Glenmore State School provides quality education in all of the eight key learning areas: English, Mathematics, Study of Society and Environment, Science, The Arts (visual and performing), Health/Physical Education, Technology and Languages Other Than English (L.O.T.E). Classroom teachers cater for all key learning areas except Music, L.O.T.E. and Physical Education which are taught by specialist teachers.
Glenmore State School is also committed to promoting Active and Informed Citizenship through environmental education. Classroom activities include catchment care, Splitter’s Creek restoration project and Seaweek as well as many other excellent projects. Glenmore is registered as a Reef Guardian School.
Excursions and school camps enhance learning received in the classroom allowing children to experience real life application of classroom learning.
Children are encouraged to attain their potential through skilling in problem solving, thinking strategies and a variety of opportunities that include Opti-MINDS, Maths, English, Spelling and Science Competitions and subject specific extended learning programs. This prepares students well for entry into accelerated learning of the AMSCO Program commencing in Year 8 at the adjoining Glenmore State High School. Here students have the chance to work with and relate to other students of like minds and interests to enhance their knowledge, experiences and creativity.
At Glenmore State School, French is taught to students in Years 6 and 7 during LOTE (Languages Other Than English) lessons provided by a specialist teacher.
