ANZAC Service

Catafalque Guard entering

Glenmore's ANZAC Service began with the arrival of the Catafalque Guard, made up of students from the 125th Australian Cadet Unit in Rockhampton.

Our school captain then welcomed our guest, Petty Officer (ANC) Gemma Hartigan, who spoke about the ANZAC traditions.

The Service also included the reading the Oath and Prayer of Remembrance, playing The Last Post and The Rouse, and singing the Australian and New Zealand national anthems.

Representatives from each class then laid a wreath at the Alec Beesley Memorial. Alec, a past Glenmore student, was a wireless operator and air gunner who was killed during World War Two.

We would like to thank Lieutenant (AAC) Bruce Reid, Petty Officer (ANC) Gemma Hartigan and the 125th Australian Cadet Unit for their contribution to our Service.
