AVA Pet PEP

18/10/2013

The Year 2 and Year 3 students were able to listen to three guest speakers and learn more about responsible pet care and handling of animals.

Dr Williams, a local vet, spoke to the students about how to care for their pet's health and the role of the veterinarian. One lucky student was able to become a "vet" and check the heart beat of Dr William's dog.

Ms Stagemen brought along her dog Poppy and spoke to the students about how to prevent a dog bite and working with rescued puppies. Lots of students and teachers were keen to take Poppy home!

Ms Jogovik, a wildlife carer, spoke to the students about being responsible pet owners and looking after the wildlife that is in our backyard. The students were lucky to see a brush tail possum, sugar glider and wallaby.
