School Crossing Safety - Preps

Students following the School

Crossing safety rules

On 22nd February, our prep students attended a School Crossing and Road Safety talk by one of our wonderful 'Lollypop Ladies', Tracy Ross. We learned 5 important rules - Stop, Wait, Listen (for whistle) Walk, Be Alert. Did you know that all students up to 10 years old should be holding the hand of an adult to cross the crossing!!
Our library was turned into a makeshift school crossing and students chanted and followed the 5 rules to get across the crossing safely.
A reminder to all parents and staff that we all have a responsibility to follow the rules and set a great example for our students on the roads.
A big thank you to Tracy for volunteering her time and also to our 'cars' - the teaching staff who certainly added some fun and by 'vrooming' and  'honking' as they crossed our makeshift crossing.
