Computers and technology

Glenmore State School is well resourced with computers and technology within the school and in each classroom.                                

School

  • Glenmore State School contains the following computer resources:
  • computer lab computer lab with 30 desktop computers. Each class has access to the lab at least once a week
  • one computer lab with 28 laptops
  • two mini labs with 15 desktop computers
  •  60 iPads
  • wireless buildings to provide flexible learning.            

Classrooms

Each classroom contains:

  • one interactive whiteboard (IWB) to stimulate and extend student learning
  • Access to desktop computers that can be integrated into class group work and help provide differentiated learning for individual students.                 

Digital tools

A range of digital tools and technologies are available to staff and students to provide opportunities to enhance learning and assist in the development of multimedia products. The digital tools include:

  • digital video cameras
  • Flip digital cameras
  • digital visualisers
  • headsets
  • early years robotics tools including Bee-Bots and mats 
  • a range of robots and robotics including Dash, Sphero and Lego Mindstorms
  • Easi-speak microphones
  • digital microscopes
  • ActivExpressions to compliment the IWBs
  • access to augmented reality ccess to augmented reality apps
  • online subscriptions to help support literacy and numeracy
  • an extensive range of programs that can be integrated into learning experiences.
