Maps and transport

Location

Glenmore State School is located at 241 Farm Street, North Rockhampton. Our school is located next to Glenmore State High School and Capricornia School of Distance Education.

A standard school crossing is staffed before and after school each day, and children are required to use this crossing at all times. Children crossing on the corner of Farm and McLaughlin Street are expected to cross at the traffic lights on the appropriate signal.

Bicycles and scooters

A bicycle rack is provided near the gate on Farm Street. Children who ride bicycles to school are expected to place these in the racks provided. We recommend a lock to ensure the bicycle’s security.

Bicycles are to be walked through the school grounds.

Scooters are not to be brought to school.

Parents and carers of children who ride to school should ensure that their children understand road rules and road safety. Helmets must be worn.

Buses

Several bus companies service the school. Bus stops are located along Farm Street. Please contact the following bus companies for more information on bus services:

Cars

McLaughlin Street is the preferred and recommended drop off area as there is a drop off/pickup area and parking area established for parents.  Please be aware that the parking areas near the administration building are for staff and service vehicles only. Parents collecting or dropping off students must not use the staff car park areas.

Vehicles must not be parked in the marked time zones which are specifically intended as drop off and collection points.  When crossing Farm Street, all children must use the pedestrian crossing at the front of the school and bicycles must be wheeled across the crossing.  When crossing Yaamba Road children must use the under-pass.

Glenmore State High School’s grounds are out of bounds at all times. This includes the dropping off and collection of children from the primary school.
