Glenmore State School currently follows the Australian Curriculum from the Foundation year (Prep) to Year six in English, Mathematics, Science, Geography and History. Compliance with other subject areas will follow as they are developed and ready for implementation. Students access the other KLAs through the essential learnings of the Queensland curriculum.
AC: Languages is studied formally in Year six and five for 1.5 hours per week. The language learnt at Glenmore State School is Japanese. Our school is the primary feeder school to Glenmore State High School which also offers Japanese.
Specialist teachers deliver programs in music and physical education which includes a free swimming program for Year Four students with the support of trained and qualified AUSTSWIM instructors. Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) are a cross-curricular priority at Glenmore State School. A teacher-librarian supports teachers in delivering quality instruction in ICTs skills.
Indigenous perspectives are integrated into the curriculum and Darumbal elders teach the local indigenous language to early years’ classes. Science also incorporates indigenous perspectives, as well as literacy. Glenmore State School uses the Primary Connections program which is aligned to the Australian Curriculum.
